Socketing and items.

Post by Twilighteyes » Sat Feb 08, 2020 5:11 pm

Hey all!!

So playing with socket system, had a couple questions.

1. Is there a breakdown list somewhere on how many gems can be socketed into a base item? I know armors can take 6 (if using a socket tool 1) and rings can take 2. Are weapons all an across the board number or do they have a limit by size?

2. Will adding socket gems INCREASE the base items enchantments or no? Ex: using a socket tool 1 on a suit of +3 armor, will adding 6 gems of AC +1 get you a suit of +9 armor?

Howdy :)

1. Using a socket tool 1 on an item grants it 1 slot for use of the socket system. this can be done to ANY item.

Bear in mind that the forge counts magical powers on an item and will allow max 5. The socket is counted into this. So optimally when creating endgame gear you would First forge and item full up and THEN add the socket tool.

You may turn 5 socket1 tools and 100k gold into a socket 2 tool. this can then add 2 sockets on an item...

Remeber powers dont stack but will override. SO if you use a sockettool 1 and an enchant +1 stone on a blade +3 in reality you will override the +3 and create an blade +1 until you add more gems to it to up the +'s …

-------------

2. As explained above it will NOT add to the base bonus but rather OVERRIDE it !

Awesome!

Now to count how many gems a base item will take.

So far a “clean” (clean meaning a base item with NO enchantments at all) armor will take 6 gems of the same type using a socket tool 1.
A “clean” ring will take 2 gems of the same type using a socket tool 1.

Or … You could go to the ingame Castle Balder library and read or buy the book there explaining the intire system in details… *cough*
